DBT Awareness Sessions

with Mouri Karim

Join us for series of Dialectical Behaviour Therapy awareness sessions and gain an understanding of the therapy and the benefits of learning and using DBT Skills.

Mouri Karim is skilled in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Narrative Therapy, supporting individuals experiencing complex trauma, suicidality, self-harm, Borderline Personality Disorder, anxiety and mood disorders, post-traumatic stress (including complex PTSD), ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, and eating disorders.
 
Mouri applies DBT’s four core modules-Mindfulness, Distress Tolerance, Emotion Regulation, and Interpersonal Effectiveness-tailoring interventions to each client’s needs. DBT is particularly effective for individuals struggling with: 
Emotional dysregulation: Intense mood swings, distress intolerance, emotional outbursts 
Self-harm or suicidal behaviours: Chronic suicidality, self-injury, recurrent crises 
Impulse control issues: Maladaptive coping, binge eating, substance use 
Complex trauma histories: Trauma-related emotional instability and relationship struggles 
Interpersonal difficulties: Unstable relationships, fear of abandonment, conflict patterns

Mouri is a dedicated clinician with four years of clinical experience and a decade of work in the domestic violence sector, crisis services, casework, and support work. She specialises in trauma-focused interventions and culturally responsive care, working with clients across the lifespan from diverse backgrounds.

Dr Sneha Goyal

Sneha has over 11 years of experience as a clinical psychologist in India, and is currently an AHPRA-registered Provisional Psychologist in Australia.

She has extensive experience conducting assessments and providing structured therapy for adults with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) across comorbidities. Her PhD research explored ‘Executive Functions, Emotion Regulation, Social Cognition, and Functioning in Adults with ADHD’.

PCOS Information and Support Sessions

Liz Power will be hosting an information session for those experiencing or supporting other women with PCOS.

 Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) affects approximately 10% of women at a reproductive age in Australia. Diagnosis of PCOS requires at least two of the following: irregular periods, high androgen levels (or symptoms of), ultrasound of ovaries showing polycystic ovaries.

This session will cover topics including: 

 - PCOS Symptomology

 - Psychological Impacts 

 - Symptom Management

 - PCOS in the Workplace 

Medical, psychological, and social perspectives will be explored - understanding intersections and comorbidities assists individualistic care.
